Responsibilities:
o The Bill of Materials Specialist is responsible for creating and maintaining Item Master, Bill of Materials, Resources, Routings, Operations (workflows), and related data in the ERP systemo You will use your attention to detail and your passion for organization to create, modify, and maintain Items, Bills of Materials (BOMs), Configuration Management, and Routings for our productso Work closely with manufacturing personnel to establish routing/labor hours for all subassembly and finished good BOMso With your expertise, you'll ensure that our products meet the highest standards for accuracy and consistencyo Develop a thorough understanding of the cost impact resulting from changes and support material requirements, costs, Customer Service, and manufacturingo Create, modify, and maintain accurate and consistent Item data, multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs), Routings, Resources, and Operation recordso Work closely with manufacturing personnel to establish routing/labor hours for all subassembly and finished good BOMso Actively engage in the construction of BOMs and Routings derived by cross functional communication with various departmentso Understand the cost impact of changing BOMs, Routings and Items as well as impact on production use, inventory values, variances, and COGS
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience requiredKnowledge of BOM and Routing structuring and the difference between:
Engineering BOMManufacturing BOMo Experience in a Manufacturing/Assembly environmento Understanding of workflows, process steps process interactionso Strong problem solving and decision-making skillso Drive and desire to dig for answers which improve company processes is critical; initiative is keyo Strong communication skills are a must, particularly the ability to prepare clear, concise, professional written and oral communicationso Possess the ability to gather, organize and analyze large amounts of data and information with great attention to detailo Be able to work independently and within a team frameworko A natural affinity for details, organization and timeliness is crucialo Capable of understanding technical drawingso Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)o Experience working with ERP systemsA STATEMENT FROM SCOTT MANUFACTURING SOLUTIONS HUMAN ASSETS DEPARTMENTScott Manufacturing Solutions has partnered with E-Verify to verify work eligibility in the United States.
