Seeking a Production Manager for REED, LLC, an OEM with a worldwide distribution of concrete pumps/construction equipment.
Production Manager
Plan, direct and coordinate production personnel and activities in achieving manufacturing, customer service, and financial objectives. Scope of responsibility includes production management, quality inspection, safety and environmental regulation compliance as well as maintenance. Manage machine shop, welding, assembly, paint booth and maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage resources within given areas of responsibility to ensure staffing and equipment readiness levels match business activity levels.
Coach and motivate employees.Evaluate employee performance and provide disciplinary action as required.
Track competencies of subordinates and provide leadership and development as required to achieve the objectives.
Promotes, maintains, and enforces safe and healthy working conditions for all employees in accordance with regulatory requirements and Company standards, and prepare periodic safety and environmental compliance reports
Assign work according to designated priorities in order to maintain scheduled completion dates and throughput targets.
Provide operational input and guidance to Engineering for new product development, process improvement and process capability.
Maintain a high standard of product quality andinspect incoming materials/purchase parts classified as critical components
Identify and execute cost savings initiatives that directly impact the business and operations goals.
Read and interpret drawings, specifications, processes and complete attendant paperwork.
Prepare daily production reports, employee time sheets and maintain appropriate records.
Supervisory Responsibilities - Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues.
Qualifications
Minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in production management
Able to read blueprints and familiar with machine shop operations
Experience with safety and environmental regulations
Experience with production scheduling and capacity planning
Experience with lean manufacturing a plus
